To disable the Windows Update Manager, make the following registry edit
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Add ad DWORD entry called NoWindowsUpdate
Give it a value of 1
